The Real Threat Beyond AGI: What Both Opponents and Supporters Have Overlooked

I’ve noticed that discussions about AI‑generated content on X have split into two predictable camps: the opponents and the supporters.

If I had to choose, I lean toward the supporters—but only conditionally. Before humanity entrusts the Earth, or its own survival, to AI, we must confront an uncomfortable truth: human nature, at its worst, will inevitably weaponize AI to violate the rights and interests of others. That is why we need preemptive legislation, not post‑collapse remedies.

Before supporters rush to argue, I ask you to first understand what AI‑driven mass‑control systems are, and what PRA entails. If you know how “store‑cluster” operations once dominated e‑commerce platforms, then you are qualified to participate in this discussion.

Having spent more than two decades in the TMT industry, building and developing products across multiple cycles, I have felt firsthand the threats that emerge when AI falls into the hands of a concentrated few. These threats include:

1. Using mass‑control systems combined with PRA to generate enormous numbers of accounts. (And if you don’t know that these systems can already simulate SIM cards and global IPs, you may want to sit this one out.)

2. Simulating human comments and behaviors through APIs provided by major AI platforms.

3. Combining (1) and (2). What becomes possible? Manipulating votes and reviews is trivial. Steering public opinion, shaping ideological currents, even influencing mass sentiment becomes entirely feasible.

4. Returning to our main concern: once these technologies are applied to creative fields, they will deliver a devastating blow to traditional creators. This is not merely a problem for writers, manga artists, or animators—it threatens the entire ecosystem surrounding them.

And yet, I still lean toward the supporters.

Because this is the global tide. In my hometown dialect, we call it momentum.

And ordinary people cannot resist momentum.

My child loves drawing. I introduced her to AI with brutal honesty:

“Today’s AI is already comparable to illustrators with more than ten years of experience. You can treat drawing as a hobby, but most people in your generation will not be able to make a living from it.”

As I said, ordinary people cannot resist momentum.

From my own perspective, I also hope my works can be adapted into manga, animation, or even live‑action films at extremely low cost. Only AI can make that possible.

But if AI truly achieves this, what will happen to the manga artists and animators I admire—the “gods” of the craft? Perhaps the gods will survive, but the vast number of people working beneath them will not.

I still remember a friend from my youth who worked as an in‑between animator. During the most competitive periods, he earned less than one US dollar per frame. I cannot imagine what he and his colleagues will face when AI finally fulfills my creative dreams.

I can see that future. And if you are reading this, you probably can too.

I love writing. I love tragedy and comedy alike—but those belong to the world of fiction. In my works, I have written repeatedly: even if AI reaches strong AGI or surpasses it, whether humanity can escape labor and attain genuine freedom will depend entirely on the financial powers and political regimes that control AI.

That is the truly terrifying prospect—and the reason I wrote this piece.

Most people see only what is directly in front of them. The conflict between supporters and opponents of AI creation is surface noise. What many fail to recognize is that their conflict is not the real issue at all.

This is why I am willing to reveal the core premise of my work Ultimate Patriotic Weapon 2084 ahead of time:

Nations need their people because, in the pre‑AI era, all wealth was created by human hands. States survive by depending on their citizens. But once AI and robotics—such as Musk’s Optimus—become powerful enough to replace the masses, the existential value of most humans will evaporate.

Ask yourself honestly:

How do you treat something that has no value?

The real threat is not the supporters or opponents of AI creation.

It is the financial empires and governing systems humanity has spent millennia cultivating—entities that already control every aspect of human life, including thought itself.

I have emphasized this repeatedly in Ultimate Patriotic Weapon 2084, through story and allegory. It represents the human endgame I fear most.

My hope is this:

regardless of which side you stand on, urge your governments to prioritize the threats I have outlined.

The arrival of AGI is inevitable.

But if events unfold as I have described, then I ask the world’s politicians and billionaires—

treat the last living humans with kindness.

Allow us to die with dignity.
